NBA 2K21 Features
After a lengthy wait, 2K has outlined some of the changes coming to the game for current-generation platforms (and we assume next-gen platforms as well). They include:
Pro Stick Shooting upgrades
40 new Jump Shot Landings
Overhauled dribble moves
50 new Size-Ups
No more Quick Draw badge
6’8″ PGs in MyCAREER
NBA 2K21 New Gameplay

2K has also released the first look at gameplay on current-generation consoles. This includes the return of the Pro Stick, tons of new animations for Jumpshots and defensive motion, and plenty more. You can see current-gen gameplay in action below.
• Pro Stick
One of the biggest changes being introduced has to do with the Pro Stick feature. The changes will give players more control on offense.
The new controls for the Pro Stick can be found below.
Hold RS down = jump shot
Hold RS left or right = escape dribble moves
Hold RS up = signature size-ups
Tap the RS = quick 1-to-1 dribble moves
Tap the RS with Sprint held = quick momentum dribble moves
• Upped PGs
For NBA 2K21’s MyCareer mode, the developers have increased the height limit for point guards to 6’8″. The change came directly from a request by the game’s current-gen cover star, Damian Lillard.
• Skill Gap vs. Accessibility
The goal, 2K was to offer a game that was easy for new users to play while being able to give “enough of a skill gap for veteran users to really showcase their talent.”
To make this happen, NBA 2K21 has a robust set of sliders to be able to carefully map the appropriate settings for all the different modes. There’s going to be a wide range of gameplay experiences for everyone.
• Shooting
NBA 2K21’s Pro Stick will resurrect Shot Stick Aiming, which was last seen in 2K17. So when shooting with the Pro Stick, the shot meter is no longer a timing bar, but a targeting system.
The new aiming system also applies to layups, so players will need to have a “good touch” near the rim.
• Motion styles
NBA 2K21 around it’s coming to the defensive end with signature defensive motion styles. Be prepared to see some interesting moves from Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, Draymond Green, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and LeBron James, among many others.
• Badges
Last year, the badge system was redesigned to give players the ability to swap badges in and out as they upgraded them. Badges are coming back in NBA 2K21. For this version, there’s going to be even more badges that have merit and will fight for a spot in your badge loadout.
