Who are the Disrespected Players in NBA 2K20 Ratings?

Player ratings are a hot topic in 2K, so NBA 2K20 is no exception. Today, we take a look at the most disrespected players in NBA 2K20 ratings.

1. Kawhi Leonard: 96 overall

Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard has established himself as a consistent force to be reckoned with each night on the court, his ability to finish in the paint, make jumpers open or contested has risen him to become an NBA sensation. Oh, and did we mention he has 11.5-inch hands? All of this combined has made him one of the highest defensive rated players each year.

96 is a pretty good rating. But players ranked above him: James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James. Now wouldn’t you say that Kawhi Leonard should at least be in the same category as these three? As a matter of fact, more than a few folks will argue that Leonard is the best two-way player in the entire league right now.

2. Stephen Curry: 95 overall

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry is arguably the best shooter in the history of the NBA and that won’t change for a long time. Moreover, just like he is the king in the NBA, he remains like that in the new edition of the NBA 2K franchise.

Three NBA Championships and two MVP awards in his ten-year career to date, it’s safe to say that Curry has made a mockery of his 7th overall pick in the 2009 draft. Curry is one of only eight NBA players in history to register a 50-40-90 season, doing so back in 2016.

The greatest shooter getting a 95 overall rating. Players ranked above him: Luka Doncic, James Harden, Kevin Durant. No disrespect to Luka Doncic or James Harden, but we’d take Stephen Curry over these two any day of the week.

3. Joel Embiid: 91 overall

Joel Embiid

Is Joel Embiid the best player on the Philadelphia 76ers? Well, the answer to that is simply yes. He back up to a 91 rating. Embiid, and the 76ers as a whole, have had a roller-coaster season but it seems he’s finally on track. While it’s unknown if he and Ben Simmons will ever find a way to win consistently with each other, on his own, Embiid is a force to be reckoned with.

Players ranked above him: Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry. Same argument with Nikola Jokic. If there’s anybody that could challenge Jokic for the best center in the NBA, then it would have to be Joel Embiid.

4. Nikola Jokic: 91 overall

Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic moved up to the number 2 spot this year despite seeing a single point increase to his rating. He is widely considered one of the most skilled players at the center position due to his elite passing skills. Jokic took a step forward last season as the face of the franchise with averages of 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.

Players ranked above him: Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry. Nikola Jokic was in the MVP conversation during the 2019-20 campaign, and for good reason. He was the best player on a Denver Nuggets team that pushed the Golden State Warriors for the best record in the Western Conference. A 91 for perhaps the best big man in the league just doesn’t sound right.

5. Bradley Beal: 89 overall

Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal is a bona fide All-Star, and some will argue that he should have been called up to the All-Star team a year or two before he actually was. He’s leading the most prolific offense in the NBA, putting up career-high scoring numbers on uncharacteristically low shooting percentages and is well on his way to an All-NBA selection. He deserves a spot amongst the NBA’s elite.

Players ranked above him: Trae Young, Kyrie Irving. 89 is an undeniably a tremendous rating, given how he has emerged as one of the best shooting guards in today’s NBA.

6. Derrick Rose: 84 overall

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose seemingly rejuvenated his career last year with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In 51 games, he averaged 18 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, as well as a 37 percent clip from deep — a career-high. He also scored a career-high 50 points in a win 128–125 win over the Utah Jazz. It was a game that got everyone emotional, especially Rose.

Players ranked above him: Montrezl Harrell, Andre Drummond, De’Aaron Fox. For a guy who dropped a career-high 50 points during the 2018-19 season, it seems like 84 is a low-ball rating. Rose has lost a step — to put it nicely — from his MVP days, but can you honestly say that Montrezl Harrell is a better overall player than D.Rose?

7. Jrue Holiday: 83 overall

Jrue Holiday

After a disastrous start to the season, Jrue Holiday has strung together three decent fantasy games in a row. He had by far his best offensive game of the year without Anthony Davis as he went for 20 points, four rebounds, and seven assists with two threes against the Sacramento Kings.

Players ranked above him: Danilo Gallinari, Jamal Murray, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Jrue Holiday is one of the most underrated players in the NBA, and his 2K20 rating is a further testament to this fact. The veteran point guard is arguably the best two-way guard in the NBA at the moment, and he has proven year in and year out that he deserves much more recognition than he gets.
