Speaking of “monsters,” if you look up the very definition you’ll find Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Milwaukee Bucks Small Forward, Coming in at 96, Giannis Antetokounmpo is ranked third in the game among current players, behind only Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James, who are both rated 97.
He led the league in a number of different areas last campaign. His 36.1 points per game average was some eight points better than his nearest competitor, whilst he also drained 378 threes, a league high. A steady climb up from 94 over the duration of last year’s game reflected the big stride the 24-year-old took in the campaign.
He is not just a good passer for someone his size or at his position. Antetokounmpo averaged the highest points per assist (2.6) among the 76 NBA players with the most possessions last season, per Synergy. The Milwaukee superstar was also a more prolific distributor, averaging notably more passes per game (54.3). His secret weapon, though, is that he can help his teammates score when he is running the pick-and-roll as the ballhandler.
In 2016–17 he led the Bucks in all five major statistical categories and became the first player in NBA history to finish a regular season in the top 20 in total points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He received the Most Improved Player award in 2017. The three-time All Star led the league in efficiency rating and win shares during the 2018-19 season; he was top ten in scoring, rebounds and blocks and led the Eastern Conference in voting in 2019. In June 2019, he was named the NBA Most Valuable Player.
He is the first-ever international athlete to grace the cover of NBA 2K. The NBA 2K19 Standard Edition cover with Giannis Antetokounmpo paled in comparison to the Legend’s Edition for that year, but it was still strong with meaningful words surrounding the budding superstar.
